An UNEXPECTED sail from SWANSEA to CARDIFF No. 98
Welcome back. Zach and I were spending the weekend in Bristol when we got an unexpected phone call inviting us to sail from Swansea to Cardiff the following day- an opportunity we couldn’t pass up! Having both not had a tonne of experience sailing bigger yachts, it was a great day of learning and having fun- an especially memorable moment being when Ian (who owns said boat) went for a nap…mid Bristol Channel…and left all sailing responsibilities up to me and Zach! We stepped up though and had the time of our lives!
Later on in the video we get back on land and head to the end of the Gower to the Rhossili Sunflower fields. We have been meaning to go there for a while and knowing the sunflowers wouldn’t be around for much longer, we decided that today was the day. The sun was shining and ohhh what a beautiful place. Tŷ (a house) & llu (of numerous host). We are Becka and Zach and we want to give you the warmest welcome to the Teulu Tribe. Since meeting in 2018, it has always been our dream to buy a sailboat, and after lockdown and coming out of university, this idea seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, gained experience and in March 2022 bought our dream sailboat, a 1987 Colvic Victor ketch. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on. So hop on board, join our Teulu and lets see what this ‘living’ business is all about.
