Benard and Lalani are Seeker's dragon escorts. The Chinese dragon has powers to control water and is a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it.

Vikings Rock! Johan Storbjörk from Vaxholm, Sweden just finish up two weeks of welding on Seeker. Literally, his plane is still in the air as I post this video. And we had other awesome visitors too. Tyler Lay of "LAY's custom welding" from just up in...
Thanks to Jack, Kevin, Dan, Richard, and Mike on this one. We got a good start on the engine room hatch, two scuppers and put more work in on the deck crane and mast support.
Way too soon to be putting the portholes in, but we needed to figure out where they would go before we cut the freeing ports. That way we could avoid rain water pouring past an open porthole.
http://narcoa.org/ And many thanks to Greg Cotton. Cleaning out a shed, maintaining some engines and fixing the clutch on my truck is certainly not glamorous boat building work, but it all allows work on the boat to proceed all that much faster. Good...
It was really nice to have a pair of mechanical engineers around. Matt wanted to move something heavy so we took the morning to test fit the deck crane. And Drew has actually designed winches and cranes so he was the perfect person help us decide how to ...
Much gratitude for Arron "Mr. Welder" Buscavage who flew in from Lower Alabama (Florida). Randy Martin from Denton Texas, who stopped with his work cloths this time. And locals, Jack and Hugh. A great team and a great weekend.
Two guest were in this weekend. YouTuber Greg Porter of Greg's Garage came down from Kansas. And Neil rode in on his BWM from Denham Springs Louisiana. Add Jack to the list and we had to run another extension cord from a separate breaker. If you think ...
I just love it when a plan comes together. Bill and I looked for companionway hatches that slid sideways and found nothing. That's always a bad sign, but we pushed ahead and so far we love the results.
And check out Bruce Atkinson's work. https://ww...
Thanks to crew members: David, Jack and Bill who is out from South Carolina. We are defiantly going to have a much dryer winter this year than last year.
If you want to run a great boat, you've got to get a great crew. And you can't have a better crew that one that is volunteering to build the boat. Seeker has awesome crew. Check out Ed Wheeler's metal sculptures at http://www.edjowheeler.com/
We had a great week, despite the heat. David Finch delivered our day tank, and also put in welds on the cabin tops. Jack got started on the braces for the forward cabin top. And we are moving the last of the big sheets of steel up onto the boat. When...
The more I work with Jack the more I like him. He has overcome more obstacles thank most, takes responsibility, and understands the value of living without fear. "You've got to suck at something before you get better at it." -- Jack
Flushing the coolant system actually killed it, but it was merciful. Also how to de-bend a prop, and try to un-seize an engine.

Many thanks to Leilani for flying in from Portland to work on the Dragon. And Betsy who is become extremely proficient at applying scales. Replacing the foam with resin is going well. Hopefully we have a full dragon soon.
This is sort of a lost foam resin casting process that utilizes resin coated carved EPS foam as the mold shell. The desire is to end up with and easily carved object that is lightweight and very durable. And again a hardy thanks to the Seeker crew for th...
Took the ROV's boat out for a couple of shakedown cruises. ...more will be needed. Did some diving with the hookah system. And Ed cut the o-ring grooves deeper for an easier fit. All and all, good progress and a great way to beat the heat.
