Super Dave walks you through build a kick ass propane and waste oil burner for a home metal casting foundry. David uses this burner for melting cast iron at 3000F.
The burner pipe needs to be at least 2 inches ID, but larger will work too. And it’s 16 inches long, but it can be longer or shorter as needed. And it will work without the tabulator, or you can fabricate your own from sheet metal, there is no magic to it.
Pressurized air supply line is connected to the nozzle along with the diesel line. The flow of pressurized air creates a suction to draw in the diesel. The propane line just ends inside the pipe before the nozzle so the propane mixes with the low pressure air from the blower.
