Diving the Argonaut Jr. Submarine
Simon Lake dove his proof of concept submarine named the “Argonaut Jr.” in 16 feet of water. We dove our replica of the Argonaut Jr. in over 25 ft of water. Simon give no details of the dive and surface process but this is how we successfully dove the replica repeatedly and it’s the most likely process that Simon used because it provides the most controlled approach and required the least about of compressed air. Something Simon had only in short supply.
