Heavy Weather, Water spouts and putting the log back in.

Welcome to our channel.
We are now in season 7
In 2018 we left the UK to sail around the world slowly. After Brexit, a "Pandemic" and major heart surgery we are still sailing, documenting our travels and showing you what we have learned so far.
We are hoping to complete our journey, and travel right around the world even if we have had a few setbacks along the way. We will continue at our own pace and that may be fast or slow. We want to be sure not to miss anything and have stories to tell our grandchildren when we are old and grey.
Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

We do have a second channel YOUR DRONE TV It is a mix of music from classical to blues, from Opera to Punk all with stunning drone footage.

Putting the Log Back In After a Rough Passage – Our Sailing Experience

Our recent sailing adventure took us through heavy weather and an exciting encounter with a water spout. We learned the importance of understanding our depth sensor and successfully putting the paddle wheel log back in place. Join us on this incredible journey! The video episode starts by discussing how we’re finally leaving Carapace Gate, giving us time to reinstall our paddle wheel log and depth sensor after a long passage. The depth sensor also measures water temperature. In this kit, there’s detailed documentation, O-rings, and silicone grease for better fitting insertion. We learned that while the hole is quite large, it still lets through minimal water due to a flap inside the unit that closes as water pressure pushes upwards, stopping excess water from entering. Understanding the Depth Sensor The video goes on to explain how the transducer in our depth sensor works to give us both speed through water and depth information, displaying it on our chart plotter. It is located conveniently at the front of the boat for easy access. The Journey to Tissano Despite expecting a smoother passage, we still had some swell to deal with. We had a bit of sail up initially and later discovered that our autopilot seemed off, but it corrected itself later on in the journey. The Encounter with a Water Spout One interesting event occurred when we noticed a gray cloud with a water spout beneath it on our radar. The size of the spout increased, but luckily, it was far from us. We continued our journey and eventually had to reef due to changing weather conditions. Arriving in Tissano Finally arriving at Tissano, we found ourselves anchored near the small island. Our overall passage time was 45.7 nautical miles over 854 minutes. We encountered a yellow flag quarantine flag as required under International Maritime law for our unencumbered passage. Enjoying Tissano Tissano offered a quaint shop and restaurant with excellent food. The area was under development, but it proved to be a great stay, welcoming us as we took advantage of our right to free passage. Don’t forget to try out the delicious local cuisine while you’re here! Don’t miss your chance to experience this incredible sailing journey with us! Remember to always be prepared for any heavy weather and stay vigilant during your voyage. You never know what exciting encounters might await you out at sea!
