Sailing to Monopoli Amidst Hefty Winds
In the latest episode of Sam Holmes Sailing, join Sam as he embarks on a thrilling journey to Monopoli in his sailboat. The winds were strong and fierce, making for a challenging yet exciting adventure.
Braving the Winds
The beginning of the episode starts with Sam dealing with rough, windy and wavy conditions in the anchorage. Despite the challenges, he manages to navigate his way through while keeping a keen eye on any incoming waves.
Preparation for Departure
Knowing the winds were set to change direction, Sam had no choice but to set sail with a smaller jib as his larger sail wouldn’t be as effective. With the forecast guiding him, he bravely ventured forth into 40 kn wind speeds.
The Journey Continues
After battling the strong winds, Sam managed to make progress. With the sun setting in the distance, he navigated around little islands and avoided rocky formations along the way.
Anchoring at Monopoli
Upon reaching Monopoli, Sam anchored his boat and took a short break to recuperate from the intense sailing experience. The following day he set out to explore and make any necessary repairs on his vessel before heading off towards his next destination in Greece.
Completing Projects
Sam focused on addressing various issues such as fixing the broken zipper and dealing with malfunctioning bilge pumps during his stay. With the help of a speedy stitcher, he successfully repaired many problems aboard his sailboat.
Looking Towards Greece
Sam then took some time to provision his boat with groceries and walked around Monopoli before heading off towards his next destination in Greece. The winds had calmed down significantly, making it easier for him to set sail towards new horizons.
