Lashing, serving, leathering, hole drilling, and wiring! Michael's still here helping us serve and leather our various chafe points in the rigging. Garrett lashes our solar array into place atop the davits while I catch up on a little souping/brightwork. W...

The project that never ends, it goes on and on my friends! The boat build as a whole is coming along so nicely but it is still far from over. One piece of the puzzle comes to a close and another begins. Thanks for stepping on board with us for this episode...

The windlass has been rebuilt for some time. Now the skies are clear to drill some holes through the deck and dive into getting this installed. So much of every project is making sure everything aligns. Now that we are counting down the days to leaving the...
100 days! Yup, we are going to give it our all. We’ve had so many ‘last push’ moments and this feels like the legit LAST push. Again, Rediviva will not be 100% complete but we can’t sit at a dock forever. We have just received our last sail and tha...
I’m going to test your attention span with this one. It’s long with quite a bit of talking as we discover some not so lovely issues with our 40 year old motor. The previous owner called her King of the Shit we might be changing this to King of taking a...
Bending a sail: to secure a sail to a spar before hoisting. Bend On ~ To tie onto or fasten. Garrett completes the last of the changes and additions to the boom and gaff. Persevering through the cold, damp weather. Then together we work on permanently secu...
My sister, Ellen, and her husband, Casey, join us in a little holiday celebration. This is the first ever lighted boat parade that Garrett and I have ever participated in and it was a ton of fun. We even got second place!

I could stare at the ocean indefinitely. We got so lucky with the day and so lucky that one of our volunteers lives close enough to take us sailing! Michael, who has done our ratlines among other things, has a Bristol Channel Cutter 28 in Pillar Point Harb...
Excited to get another sail we jump into getting the changes on the mizzen boom and gaff done. The episode leaves us watching paint and soup dry. Can’t wait to mount the davits and absolutely can’t wait to get every sail fully rigged up!

Another sail arrives! Our staysail is the second out of our four working sails to be completed. Thanks to M&H Bartles, Sailmakers. We keep at a few smaller projects and when the skies clear Garrett gets back to the bigger current project which is mount...
We get down to business in this episode. Installing our Nature’s Head, a marine toilet. The days of walking to the shorehead will be in the past!

Our first look at the cushions inside the boat! We are half way through making all the cushions. I love the striped fabric for the dinette and the light color fabric we chose for the quarter bunks. Having two different fabrics kind of helps separate the bo...
We have so many to thank for helping us with materials for this project! It took, of course, longer than I thought to get the hang of it but mostly that was just finding the right head space. Not being too overcritical and being okay with it not being perf...
To Jeff, who reached out to help with the windlass project, my emails kept getting sent back. Thanks for being willing to help! It means a lot to us.

We sailed the boat, took a vacation, but we're not done building yet. We get right back into it working with Jack on our electrical. After a few days down below it felt good to get back on deck and we furthered the aft cleat assembly. Lots more to get done...
After the high of raising and sailing with our mainsail it was hard to follow. Our buddy, Hoffa, convinced us we needed to take a more legit break and come visit him on the island of Catalina that he now calls home.
