Sailing From Hogsty Reef to Fort Lauderdale Florida
For insurance purposes we were instructed to make arrangements for the Caribbean hurricane season running from July to November.
We had to get above 30 degrees north so we decided to sail from the US Virgin Islands to the east coast of American to North Carolina.
This video includes our voyage from Hogsty Reef, an atoll in the southern Bahamas to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
There’s footage of us fishing, an engine overheat situation, a big storm and what it was like to enter the city of Fort Lauderdale (and have a huge bridge open for us) by boat. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
