20-06_Surfing Waves with a 25 ton Boat (sailing ZERO)

Ahoy,
Bahia del Sol in El Salvador always triggers words like safe anchorage, hurricane hole and friendly people if you mention it to other cruisers. But there also pop up words like big waves, crossing the river bar and fear.
It’s a beautiful place and a really safe anchorage, the locals are friendly and there are many reasons to go there and only 1 not to go. Crossing the river bar is not for the faint hearted.
We actually went back and forth to go there or skip it. We eventually decided to go and added an adventure to our memories we’ll never forget.
We don’t think we were in real danger. Crew and ship were well prepared and we got local knowledge to guide us but you never know and with waves powerful enough to push ZERO over the 19kn mark anything can happen..

We take you along for a ride of our lifes.. and show you the beauty of El Salvador, a country small in size but big in our hearts..
