Weu2019ve been working tirelessly for eight months to prepare our sailboat Florence for a new adventure, but unexpected delays in the refit process have forced us to change our original plans. Join us as we depart on this new journey, circumnavigating the stunning British Isles.
Changing Course
Originally, our plan was to embark on a voyage up into the Arctic Circle. However, due to time constraints and challenges in obtaining permits and insurance for this expedition, we have had to rethink our plans.
The New Adventure
We have decided to bring forward our plans for a circumnavigation of the British Isles to this year, essentially swapping the two adventures. The British coastline and outlying islands offer breathtaking views and challenging sailing conditions that we are both really looking forward to experiencing on Florence.
The Journey Begins
After an exciting shakedown sail with our new sails, we set off from Port Solent Marina. Our first stop was Ramsgate, where we waited out strong winds and planned our route up the British Isles.
The Journey So Far
So far, this passage has been easier than expected with fewer ships and obstacles to navigate around. However, challenging weather conditions still await us as we sail further into our journey.
The Future
Next stops include the historic port of Whitby and various remote Scottish islands, where we plan to anchor and enjoy stunning scenery. Join us on this exciting journey as we continue to explore the breathtaking beauty of the British Isles.
