After a significant amount of effort and hard work, our crew is now in the final stages before their boat Yabá is ready for her first sail. This isn’t just any journey; it’s been years in the making with countless hours invested to bring her back to life. From Shipyard To Anchorage
The video begins by showcasing the crew’s excitement as they bring essential items on board. From avocados brought by their friend Nico to crucial boating accessories, every item has its place in this dream come true.Refurbishing The Wine Fridge
One of the many tasks they tackle is converting their wine fridge, which originally runs on 220V, into a working unit that can be powered by the boat’s 24V system. They bring in the fridge from the pier and begin planning how to mount it.The Furniture And Modularity Of The Boat
The modularity of their boat shines through as they discuss adding more space or removing parts as needed. They meticulously plan and measure the fridge’s location, making sure it fits perfectly.Anchoring At Naes
Having finally finished their tasks for the day, they embark on their first sail to an anchorage near Naes. The wind is strong and there are many things left to complete before they can fully enjoy sailing Yabá.A Night At Anchor
The crew settles into their first night at anchor, grateful for the accomplishment of this milestone. As darkness falls and the underwater lights are turned on, they reflect on their journey thus far.Looking Ahead
This is only the beginning of many adventures to come for Yabá. As they prepare to return to the shipyard and continue with construction, their excitement grows for future trips and challenges that lie ahead.Sail On Yabá!

💙 Who are we?
We are Ben and MP!
Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way.
