Building and living on our BOAT during a STORM — Sailing Yabá 209

Welcome back sailors and curious land-dwellers! Buckle up as we dive into another exhilarating episode filled with unpredictable weather and heart-warming moments.

The adventure doesn’t stop when the skies darken or winds pick up. As our journey unfolds at Anchorage, it’s time to experience what life aboard a vessel is like during unforeseen storms.

Facing Nature’s Fury

Despite the challenges posed by relentless rain and howling winds, we’ve found creative solutions to keep working. Tackling unexpected obstacles head-on has taught us valuable lessons about perseverance and adaptability while living aboard.

The Importance of Organization

Maintaining order in such a confined space proves challenging at times, but we’ve managed to find clever ways to keep our tools and supplies in check. From storing anchor ropes neatly to organizing fishing gear, organization is key for a smooth sail.

Fresh Catch Dinner

In this episode, we were fortunate enough to score a delightful surprise—a bountiful shrimp catch! With a generous donation from our kind neighbor at the shipyard, we decided to cook up an impressive dish inspired by our adventure. Our patron supporter Davina Hans even joined us for the meal. Join us in cooking up a scrumptious seafood recipe perfect for any sailor’s palate.

Rain or Shine, We Press On

We hope you’re as inspired by our resilience and dedication to the task at hand as we are. Each challenge faced only propels us further down this amazing journey, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank You

To all our incredible viewers, thank you for sticking with us through every storm and beautiful day. Your unwavering support is the wind beneath our sails, driving us forward to conquer any ocean adventure that comes our way.

What’s Ahead

In upcoming episodes, get ready for some truly breathtaking transformations and milestones as we edge closer to casting off. Stay tuned for more thrilling stories, valuable tips, and heartwarming moments from the high seas.

Don’t forget—subscribe, like, and comment if you haven’t already! Your involvement keeps us afloat, and we couldn’t be more grateful for each one of our valued patrons and viewers.

Until next time, keep exploring and embracing the great unknown. Fair winds and following seas!

Bringing Yabá from wreck to dreamy! Episode 209
In this episode of our boat restoration, we are trying to get ready to go sailing while facing the daily obstacles of boat life.
Of course, we always try to make room for the typical "smelling the flowers along the way", which in boat language is more like fishing or going for a kayak session with the doggos. We hope you enjoy watching our journey of growing and learning how to be sea people.

We still can't get over how cute (and practical) the dogs' life jackets are!

💙 Who are we?
We are Ben and MP!
Recently we decided to purchase a two-masted wooden schooner in Brazil. The fun detail about our story is that the boat we bought was sinking and relying on many bilge pumps to survive so we had to lift it onto the dry to start a full refit. Once the boat was lifted (for the first time in her life) we realized that the work needed was much more than expected. Between bailing or accepting the challenge, we decided to go for the second option. Watch us as we bring Yabá back to life with the help of an amazing team of traditional shipwrights, sharing every phase of the process, overcoming the highs and lows and having fun along the way.
