Sailing content creators nightmare - I have been hacked SwT 211

In this video I am sharing my experience fighting for last two weeks to claim back the control of all my various accounts on different platforms. More than 50 passwords altered and serious challenges to get back ownership. Maybe to my biggest surprise among the most critical platforms having lost control on was also the one with the third slowest support. And this from a platform most content creators are not only using, but paying a high price to stay on. I am talking about patreons.

I replaced my motherboard on one of my macbook pro machines here in Indonesia. And this is the same machine that obviously was spying on everything I did. Or the password key chain or the apple ID was compromised in some way or another. I am absolutely not accusing the company fixing my mac, but it is strange that this was the only mac affected. Because I use two different apple ID on my to MacBook Pro. And even a third on my iMac.

I never use unsecured networks, and always use VPN. also having many other safety measures so I almost can't belive this happen to me.But it did, and I can promise you it was not a fun ride.

I had to do a factory reset, and re install everything and also fight so many extremely poor support sites from different companies. But when this video was made I had finally gained 100% control on all my accounts again. Even from Microsoft and Facebook thats famous for being almost impossible to get back if something like this happen.

I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.
Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me.

Even though this is season 7 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. I also have more than 10 years of experience as a captain in search and rescue at sea in Norway.

Sailing solo around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser - S/Y Be Free. Most of the time sailing single handed and occasionally with friends and other guests. Dreaming of crossing the Pacific singlehanded. Most of my life has been in the small coastal town Tønsberg, 95 km south of Oslo. With the national park at our doorsteps, and the Oslo fjord and Skagerak sea outside the windows, it was almost mandatory to own a boat. I´m almost raised in a sailboat and had my first by the age of 7. Not only did we spend 3 weeks every summer, and every weekend of my childhood, on the lean (Sailing) But my parents owned a boat factory, where they manufactured sailboats and smaller motorboats. So I think its fair to say I've been into sailing my whole life. MY LAST JOB Full time working for the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue, and almost 10 years as voluntary and skipper for the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue.
