In this episode, I share some of the most enjoyable moments of my time spent in Bali. The island’s vibrant culture, friendly locals, and urban lifestyle are a stark contrast to the remote places I’ve been sailing for the past year.
< !-- wp:heading -->After a long time in remote and expensive locations, I truly appreciate the ease and convenience of daily life in Bali. It’s incredible how effortless it is to find propane for my stove, schedule water deliveries, and explore the island on a scooter whenever I feel like it.
< !-- wp:heading -->While Bali is filled with numerous shopping malls, bars, and restaurants to keep me entertained, what I value the most are the interactions with the friendly locals. These small moments add depth to my sailing experience and remind me why exploring new places by boat is so special.
< !-- wp:heading -->Between the stunning beaches, friendly people, and convenient amenities, Bali strikes the perfect balance for a solo sailor like me. The island’s vibrant atmosphere is rejuvenating and helps recharge my batteries after months at sea.
< !-- wp:heading -->While Bali has been a delightful stop on my sailing journey, there are many more adventures and destinations to come. As I continue to explore Southeast Asia with be free, a special thank you goes out to all the amazing patrons, family, and friends who have made this possible.
While enjoying the most amazing island I have ever visited I still have some serious challenges with my sails. I might be stuck here for a while but it is definitely not the worst place to be stuck. Bali is a dream destination, but the sail loft here was not as expected.
I'm showing you some Balinese culture and even the contrasts on this exotic island. I am also sharing my first impression of Bali in an unfiltered and honest way.

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.
Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me.
Even though this is season 6 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. Also, more than 10 years of experience as a captain in Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.
