Two Brothers and a Black Lab Sailing to Catalina Island to Scuba Dive

Hello Friends!
On this weeks episode we take you along for a wild ride to Catalina. My little brother, Colby and his Black Lab “Bailey” head off for our first ever sailing trip together.
Our plan was to leave Newmarks Marina and have an easy motorsail to Emerald Bay and spend two days diving before returning home. As we motored out of Los Angeles Harbor I noticed the waves were breaking over the breakwater, something I have never seen happen there and it was only the slightest hint at how rough our day was going to be.
We had a very very hard passage to Catalina with 4′ to 6′ waves on the bow all day long and 13+ knots of wind also on our nose. This made for a very miserable day and between the waves and the wind it cause us so much southing and slowed our progress so much that it ended up taking us almost 8 hours to do the passage and forced us into the Isthmus as there was no possible way to make it north to Emerald Bay.
Tying up at the Isthmus we enjoyed a full day of diving at a night dive which you will see on next weeks episode!
This episode is the first we have shot with our new GoPro Hero 7 Black that we were able to buy with help from the contributions from our patrons!
We can’t thank y’all enough for your continued support!
Until Next Week,
Fair Winds,
