Tuna Hide Under Boat from Hunting Marlin (Excerpt from "Alone Across An Ocean" video)

This footage was so wild I wanted to make this short “stand alone” video for anyone who wanted to share it but didn’t want to have to share the long format episode it was taken from.

As noted above this clip is from my video documenting my solo ocean passage from Los Angeles to Hawaii.

I have only just started learning how to fish and I think my knot failed rather than the 30lb test leader breaking. I had one other Cedar Plug onboard but didn’t want to risk losing it knowing I had no clue what I was doing and might need it incase of emergency.

I had more than enough food onboard so I was fine.

The Marlin and fish stayed with me for two days and the Blue Fin tuna stayed with until I approached Oahu. They would stay close to my hull and only zip out to eat then return to the hull for safety.
