Exploring Pokai Bay, Snorkeling the Breakwater and Visiting the Kū'īlioloa Heiau at Kane'ilio Point
Season 8 : The Hawaiian Adventures : Episode #215
On this weeks episode I wake up at the very protected and peaceful anchorage of Pokai Bay. I make my way ashore and check out the town and enjoy lunch on an open veranda with a clear view of Triteia sitting under anchor.
I also visited the Kū’īlioloa Heiau that is just south of Pokai Bay on Kane’ilio Point. Kū’īlioloa Heiau is the ancient Heiau, Temple in Hawaiian, for Navigation and sea voyages.
Once back at my dinghy I found a note from the harbor master from the Wai’anae telling me I had overstayed the 72 hour time limit (this was only my 3rd day there). After speaking with him on the phone and voicing my concerns about the high wind event that was coming he allowed me to stay until the front passed.
After this drama was dealt with I enjoyed amazing snorkeling along and outside the breakwater at Pokai Bay.
