We head to Grenada’s best hurricane hole to dodge a huge storm and do some boat work. Between the storms we upgrade our solar panels and get a little party on with our catamaran friends!

This is season three aboard Sailing Sweet Ruca. We are preparing to cross the Atlantic, upgrading the boat as needed and biding our time for the right weather! In this satisfying video, we up anchor at St. Georges and motorboat to a special place to hide from hurricanes in our sailboat. We anchor our sailboat in a pond like bay and have some fun aboard catamarans in between some torrential thunderstorms full of thunder and lightning. We go scuba diving on a wreck that we learned about from SV Delos, the Tyrrel bay. The girls have a bit of fun with karaoke. We tour the island and dive a bit deeper into the local culture. Our new friends teach us how to play dominoes island style!
Special Guests:
SV Kuma Too: Mandi & Joe
The crew from Kuma Too charters their Leopard 47 in St. Thomas USVI as they work toward their around-the-world sailing plans.
SV Dragonfly: Jen & Ryan
This power couple is cruising the Caribbean with their daughter aboard their Leopard 46 catamaran. Ryan helped us out with some awesome drone shots.
SV Kraken: Don & Lisa
These entrepreneurial cats are hanging out for a bit, having started Grenada’s only chiropractic clinic.
Special Mentions & Thanks
SV Delos for diving inspiration, Scubatech Grenada for taking us underwater!
Who are we?
We are lifelong sailors and accomplished sailboat racers that got a taste of the world and wanted to see the rest.
We are from Ohio/Michigan and we bought a sailboat and re-fit it in a boatyard in Rhode Island, and keep doing boat projects along the way to improve her.
We have been cruising the northeast, Maine, Bahamas, and the Caribbean and have been living off the grid since then.
We set off almost two years ago with a goal to sail around the world via the Great Capes.
We are Kate, Curtis, and Roxy the Dog.
It is still our goal to sail around Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope, it is just going to take a little longer than we thought, until then, voyage with us via our YouTube channel 🙂
We were inspired by videos from the likes of SV Delos, Sailing La Vagabond, Gone with the Wynns, Tula’s Endless Summer, and many other YouTube sailing channels. We don’t have a fancy catamaran, but we think we have the perfect performance cruising sailboat, for us at least. We wanted to pass the same inspiration along. Hopefully, our videos motivate you to get out there and go sailing as well.
