After many years pushing overtime in office jobs and crunching numbers we finally reached our dream of buying a sailboat to become our tiny home on the ocean. ⛵

From being office-dwellers to sea-wanderers, their transition is as inspiring as it is informative.

The Crew

We are Enrique and Sarah, an ocean-loving couple who set out to sail around the world in our blue water cruiser CUBA.

Enrique, originally from Cuba, and Sarah, hailing from Germany, form the heart of Sailing SV CUBA. Both ditched their conventional routines for a life less ordinary – trading business suits for bathing suits and boardrooms for boat decks. They jumped into the liveaboard lifestyle, learning as they go and sharing their highs, lows, and in-betweens with their YouTube audience.

The Boat

Their floating home is CUBA, a Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 461 built in France in 2000. Before adopting her, Enrique and Sarah spent around six years researching different boat models. She stood out with her wide access platform, solid build for safety and comfort, and ample space for their three furry friends. Add a bulb-keel resembling a torpedo, extra-wide beam, and you understand why she’s affectionately referred to as “the Tank” or “la Guagua.”

Voyages & Destinations

Their voyage began at Gibraltar, a link between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Despite hard times in Malta where they faced a rigorous list of 121 items to improve on the boat, the couple finally cruised to Albania. Their journey represents a true testament to their resilience and fortitude.
