To finance our dream of sailing around the world on a budget aboard our small sailboat, Atticus, we have been working in Key West, Florida, on charter catamarans as a Captain-Mate duo.
The money is good enough for us to both finance Atticus’ refit as well as to save up for cruising the Caribbean, but the work is exhausting. Luckily the chance to take several of our friends out on short shake down cruises to Jewfish Basin is a great way to blow off some steam. We also get to experience the craziness of Fantasy Fest. For our favorite event, the Zombie Bike Ride, we both dress up as Boatyard Zombies, and Desiree dances for 5 hours straight! But it won’t be long until it is time to say goodbye to Key West and sail off over the horizon!
