This week marks part two of our push to get utilities installed so that we can finally move onto the property. Last week we broke ground — literally — starting the massive job of trenching for power and water. Now, in this episode, we’re finishing that work, backfilling, and laying down gravel for the first time.
It’s a huge step forward — the property suddenly feels more livable and more real than ever before. But with that progress comes some growing pains. I’ve been pushing hard to get everything ready on my own, and I’m starting to realize I might need to bring in help if we’re going to keep the momentum going.
This episode is the middle chapter in our three-part storyline about getting power, water, and septic ready so our family can finally move up the mountain and call this place home. Next week, we’ll wrap up the electrical and well hookups — the final step before we can finally live on the land full-time.
