So we are in the process of purchasing land so we can build our own DIY mountain homestead. Two weeks ago we put in an offer on this two and a half acre piece of land near the smoky mountains in North Carolina. We’ve got a couple of weeks before we close on this property, so we’re now doing our due diligence, which basically means doing all the research to make sure that buying this property really is a good idea.
Now even though we don’t own the land yet, we did get a chance to get our hands dirty this week. It felt so amazing to finally be breaking ground, working with our hands and make progress on our homestead out in these beautiful mountains. It was everything we’ve been wanting. But then we got some bad news that changed everything.
