Thousands of Miles to Sail – Are We Ready?! | S04E38

Before sailing thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean and beyond, we need to make sure we have all of the sails that we need for the crossing and for exploring the Paciffic Islands. In this episode we go over some problems we’ve been having with our current set of sails aboard Atticus as well as some gaps in our sail inventory that we need to address. After problem solving with Selden, Precision Sails, and Colligo Marine, we come up with a plan and cross our fingers it works!

Atticus is a 30 foot Allied Seawind Ketch built by Thomas Gillmer in 1963. We bought Atticus for $5000 and have been slowly improving her and living aboard full time for the last 6 years.
