The first day of framing felt like being thrown into the deep end.
I showed up thinking I had a decent handle on how this phase of the build would go. By the end of the day, I realized how much I didn’t know—and how fast a good crew can move when they know exactly what they’re doing.
This episode is mostly me trying to keep up, asking a lot of questions, and learning more in one day than I ever have about how a building actually comes together. The guys were patient, funny, and incredibly skilled, and watching the load-bearing walls of the first floor go up this fast made the project feel real in a way it hadn’t yet.
Huge thanks to the crew who helped make this happen — links to everyone involved below.
