The majority of the money that went into Atticus’ refit, we made working on Superyachts. We actually first met each other while working on the same super yacht in 2011. After 2 months of dating (and about a year of being cremates and friends), Jordan convinced Desiree to quit the super yachting world to buy a sailboat to sail around the world. Once we began our refit in Key West, Desiree continued taking side jobs in yachting to continue to sponsor the refit. She was flown to the Bahamas, Mexico and St. Martin for various jobs as second stew and stew/chef. Eventually, she had a workplace injury, which led us to find permanent work in Key West as Captain and Mate on charter sailboats. We still get tons of questions about our yachting days, so we put together some anecdotes and tips on how to get hired on a superyacht! Enjoy!
