What started as installing a 400-amp meter base quickly led us to rethinking everything about our first build on the property.
Instead of building the trailer shelter we had planned, we realized it made more sense to design a two-story, 20×30 workshop/house we could live in now and later use as our permanent shop, office, and guest space. It’s a huge pivot, but one that solves our immediate problems and sets up the homestead long term.
In this episode, I pour concrete for the first time to set the posts for our meter base, work through the design of the workshop/house, and bring in my construction buddy Cody to see if it’s even possible to fit this structure on our small build site.
