Episode 208 – Splitting up the Sailing Pickle Family! Beau’s Leaving!

In this episode, the Sailing Pickle Family introduces their new rugged phone, the Doogie Blade 10 Pro. This durable device is perfect for their adventurous lifestyle as they pack up from Lindos and sail to a creek before impending storms hit. The family shares personal moments of missing each other, thoughts on independence, and excitement for the future. Watch along as Nikki, Chris, Bear, Bo, and Buddy navigate the highs and lows of their latest sailing adventure.

Introducing the Doogie Blade 10 Pro

The Sailing Pickle Family has added a rugged phone to their arsenal. The Doogie Blade 10 Pro, as Nikki showcases, is designed for adventurers like themselves. With features such as the Android 4 14 system, AI camera with a 50-megapixel sensor, and a powerful Octa Core processor, this phone is ready for any challenge they encounter on the high seas or in their day-to-day lives.

The Doogie Blade 10 Pro’s ip68 and ip69 waterproof, dustproof, dirt-proof, sand-proof capabilities are especially appreciated by the family. Nikki mentions how this would have been useful during a recent water incident with her previous phone. The device’s rugged nature ensures it can withstand the salty sea air and sandy beaches they often encounter.

Packing Up Lindos

The Sailing Pickle Family begins their episode by packing up from their lovely stop in Lindos, a village known for its beautiful rooftop restaurants with breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. Their time here included enjoying lunch together while discussing personal challenges like Nikki’s quest to prove her independence by carrying heavy bags on her own.

This episode highlights how the family is preparing for a month-long sailing journey before selling their boat back home. Despite the beautiful moments they shared in Lindos, the thought of leaving each other behind and heading towards unknown destinations weighs heavily on everyone. The dogs, particularly Bo, seem to sense these emotional departures.

Sailing Towards a Creek

With bad weather forecasted at the end of the week, the Sailing Pickle Family decides to make their way towards a creek for protection. They aim to sail about 25 miles a day and take rest days to recover from recent health issues, including a persistent cold that has been making its rounds among the family.

Upon arriving at their destination, they share how this anchorage spot is unique, with a large sandy area across which they speculate could create big waves during bad winds. The family appreciates finding calm waters before the storms hit and can safely anchor for the night.

Family Moments and Goodbyes

Throughout this episode, the Sailing Pickle Family shares heartfelt moments of missing each other while apart, discussions on independence and personal growth, and anticipation for Christmas. There’s a mix of joy, excitement, and sadness as they navigate life aboard their ship.

Nikki emphasizes the importance of keeping memories alive through video recordings like these to document their journey together. They also encourage viewers to share their own stories in the comments below for a sense of community and connection across the seas.

Final Thoughts

As this episode wraps up, the Sailing Pickle Family reflects on their adventure with their new rugged phone, the challenges they face as individuals and together, and the beautiful places they call home for a while. This journey is about more than just sailing; it’s a family adventure full of love, growth, and shared experiences.

Join them in the morning for their next adventure, where they’ll explore more of their anchorage and possibly some nighttime fishing with their new phone. Stay tuned for more stories from the Sailing Pickle Family as they continue to navigate life’s twists and turns on the open sea.

Beaus Leaving!!!! 🥲
We have our final little adventure in Lindos the beautiful village of roof top restaurants, before sadly my Mum and Terry have to return home... Taking Beau with them!! So for the first time ever Beaus not on the boat with us and we're down to three. Sailing away was really hard even though Beau had already gone! But we left and had a long good sail towards Crete, in an aim to beat some bad weather coming our way.
