Things Escalated Quickly in the Namib Desert…(and an unexpected visitor)
This might be our funniest episode yet! In this episode we explore the incredible coastal town of Walvis Bay, Namibia, where adventure meets wildlife and unforgettable moments.
We kick things off with pure adrenaline as we sandboard and quad bike down the massive Dune 7, one of the tallest dunes in the region. The speed, the wipeouts, and the laughs make this one of the most fun days we’ve had on our journey!
Next, we visit Namibia’s famous Walvis Bay Pink Lake, a surreal bright-pink lagoon that looks like something from another planet. From there we head to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund for more exploration along Namibia’s rugged Skeleton Coast.
But the real star of the episode? A baby seal decides to hop onto the back of our catamaran and make it his temporary home! Watching him play and relax onboard was an unforgettable wildlife moment we’ll never forget.
As our time in Namibia comes to an end, we also begin the final preparations for our big sailing passage across the Atlantic Ocean. Provisioning, planning, and getting the boat ready for one of the biggest legs of our journey.
If you love sailing adventures, van life, travel vlogs, wildlife encounters, and crazy desert activities, you’re going to love this episode
We are a suburban blended family that has raised our 3 older children and now want to travel the world. After planning and saving for the past 6 years, we are now embracing our dream of sailing around the world on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. Follow our journey as we Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,800/month (food, communication, fuel, insurance, transportation, mooring/marina & fun). We left the USA in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries on 5 different continents all while worldschooling a budding teen in our off grid tiny house.
