This week aboard our sailing boat, it’s all systems go before we point the bow north toward Namibia! From wrapping up boat projects to final provisioning runs and topping up the fuel tanks, we’re in full preparation mode before checking out of South Africa and beginning our next offshore passage.

But it’s not all work and no play…

We celebrate Christmas the South African way — with incredible traditional South African foods, good friends, and cruiser party before departure. It’s the perfect send-off before clearing out of the country and setting sail up the wild and rugged west coast of southern Africa.

We are a suburban blended family that has raised our 3 older children and now want to travel the world. After planning and saving for the past 6 years, we are now embracing our dream of sailing around the world on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. Follow our journey as we Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,800/month (food, communication, fuel, insurance, transportation, mooring/marina & fun). We left the USA in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries on 5 different continents all while worldschooling a budding teen in our off grid tiny house.
