We set sail from Walvis Bay, Namibia, leaving behind the African continent for a 1,400 nautical mile passage across the wild South Atlantic Ocean, bound for the remote island of St. Helena.
But this journey quickly turns into something we didn’t expect…
When our Parasailor fails us—again—we’re forced to adapt and rely on whatever we have left onboard. Out here, there’s no quick fix, no turning back—only problem-solving, resilience, and the open ocean.
Will our makeshift solution hold, or will this passage push us to our limits?
Join us for an unpredictable ocean crossing full of challenges, lessons, and raw sailing reality.

We are a suburban blended family that has raised our 3 older children and now want to travel the world. After planning and saving for the past 6 years, we are now embracing our dream of sailing around the world on our Leopard 45 sailing catamaran. Follow our journey as we Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,800/month (food, communication, fuel, insurance, transportation, mooring/marina & fun). We left the USA in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries on 5 different continents all while worldschooling a budding teen in our off grid tiny house.
