Sailing is not just an activity, it’s a lifestyle. A journey from one beautiful location to another, experiencing the wonders that Mother Nature has provided us. This adventure takes us from Triana to Chinaman’s Bay on Mariah Island.
Preparing for the Journey
The preparation is key, especially when you’re sailing across waters unknown. The plan is to head out from Triana and make our way towards Chinaman’s Bay on Mariah Island.
Sailing Conditions
The wind was blowing 20 knots, with speeds up to 22. As per usual, one could expect a choppy journey from Triana across the waters towards Mariah Island.
Arriving at Chinaman’s Bay
Chinaman’s Bay on Mariah Island proved to be an incredibly well-protected spot, especially during the night when the winds would drop off and turn towards the north.
Navigating Through Ports
It’s all about planning the next steps. In a few days, we hope to make our way to Port Arthur at 3 in the morning when winds are calmest and safest for travel.
The Beautiful Landscapes
As we traverse through these waters, it’s not just about sailing. It’s a journey to some of the most magnificent sights that have graced Earth. A testament to Mother Nature.
The Enchanted Isles
On this trip, we stumbled upon Cathedral Rock – a marvel millions of years old, rising majestically from the ocean. A sight to behold indeed!
Celebrating the Journey
A sail such as this is not just a physical journey. It’s an emotional one, with stories waiting to unfold at every stop.
The Comfort of Port Arthur
In Stewart’s Bay, we find respite in Port Arthur, surrounded by the old buildings, feeling grateful for this magnificent adventure. Sipping on a scotch in our tranquil retreat, we can’t help but smile at life’s beauty.
