E34 REPAIR Raymarine Linear Drive AUTOPILOT (how to save $2,000)
Join us this week on Sailing Nendaz as I get to work trying to repair our Raymarine (Raytheon) Type 2 Linear Drive Unit. This is our autopilot unit. It broke 1 hour into a 24 hour passage. We couldn’t really turn around as we had doggy visa issues, and we were meeting friends too.
I get to work taking apart the old unit, figuring out exactly why it broke, and then buy some replacement parts.
It is an in depth video in how the autopilot unit works, and hopefully helps somebody out there fix theirs, if, or when it breaks!
