Yes, yes, yes!!! I am a happy sailor! The engine rebuild has finished and everything is up and running. After 4,5 months, the engine is back on board of Lady Liselot and I left Ooltgensplaat to spend some time with my friend along the quay of Waddinxveen. two weeks ago when I decided to edit, I had no idea that we would be able to leave Ooltgensplaat around X-mas, so I then created to some footage of a stranded neighbor in Nature Reserve Biesbosch. Enjoy!

When Henk-Jan hears a neighbor’s boat roar dangerously close to the sandbanks at low tide, he rushes into action for an attempted rescue. Battling against the elements, Henk-Jan maneuvers his boat to reach the stranded neighbor. Though the neighbor initially declines assistance, insisting he can wait for the tide to rise again, Henk-Jan remains on standby, plotting backup plans with his anchor and continuing to monitor the situation. Experience firsthand Henk-Jan’s communication expertise as he hails the neighbor on VHF channel 10 and later witnesses the arrival of another assisting boat.

Waarom ik alles in het Engels doe?
Omdat ik video’s kijk van Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers én heel veel Engelstaligen die allemaal Engels lullen en ook bootjesmensen / liveaboards zijn. Want alleen dan kan je je ervaring wereldwijd delen. En wat blijkt? Mijn video’s worden in 127 landen bekeken (zie S03/E01 voor de lijst). Veel van mijn kijkers en abonnees zijn Engelstaligen die mijn video’s helemaal top vinden, omdat ze óf familie hebben uit Nederland, of hier jaren geleden zijn geboren en door omstandigheden nu elders op de wereld wonen. En, dat ik dan Engels spreek met een accentje (net als de Fransen, Denen, Noren, Spanjaarden, Portugezen, Duitsers overigens) dan interesseert hen dat geen reet.
Weet je dat Nederlandse ondertiteling aan kan zetten? Doorgaans zo’n 4 uur nadat de video is gepubliceerd. Klik op de video, en kies uit de iconen die rechtsonder verschijnen dan voor [ondertiteling] en kies daar voor Nederlands. Dan wordt zelfs mijn steenkolen Engels (knap he van die jongens en meisjes YouTube) vertaald naar Nederlandsch.

She is a 1980 49ft Blue Ocean Trawler and named after my daughter: "Fien Liselot". Build in Lien Hwa Boat Yard (established in 1978). Lien Hwa Boat Yard builded boats for several OEM partners included Blue Ocean (Holland – power boats), Little Harbor (US – sail boats), Marine Trader (US – power boats), Trade Winds (US – power boats).
