After a cruisy sail from Carriacou we arrived in St Georges bay in Grenada and set about exploring the town. The next day we got down to work, walking for miles around the town in search of an electric motor that may be able to serve as a replacement in our engine driven water maker and refrigeration system, and some solar panels to power it.
After a serendipitous lunch meeting during which we tried the Grenadan national dish ‘Oildown’ we found an interesting way to source some solar panels that were cheaper than all the marine stores we’d found! So the next day we did some wheeling and dealing to get a bargain! The next challenge was getting them back to the boat and installed.

What do you do when the whole world seems hell bent on getting a mortgage, buying houses and procreating but your not quite ready to join them? Well, we decided to scrounge every penny we had, buy a boat and chase the adventure of a lifetime in the hope of challenging the assumption that prolonged world travel is only for the mega rich and the retired. Khiara and I (Adam) are from Melbourne, Australia. We bought the Millennial Falcon, a 1981 Tayana 42, in Port Charlotte, Florida in February of 2018 and have been repairing her in many weird and wonderful places ever since! It's been one hell of an adventure so far and we hope to continue for as long and as far as we can! We saved for many years to realise our goal. Watching other sailing channels, in addition to brightening our work days, gave us the hope and drive to continue saving and eventually take the plunge! So please join us on our adventure. I hope we make you laugh and can prove to some of you that it can be done!
