Last week we finished installing our Hydrovane and immediately wanted to test it out.
So we pulled up anchor and hoisted our sails for a trip to Tintamarre, an island to the north of St Martin.
Having been on anchor for a few weeks waiting for bad weather to pass, we were very excited to head off and use our Hydrovane for the first time.
Initial impressions were fantastic and supported the need for us to be GOOD sailors first and know how to balance the sails and the boat well. For Adam, he aims to do this on most sails. For Khiara… I let him do it all! Which means I have a bit of a learning curve to face and a need to pay more attention in future!

What do you do when the whole world seems hell bent on getting a mortgage, buying houses and procreating but your not quite ready to join them? Well, we decided to scrounge every penny we had, buy a boat and chase the adventure of a lifetime in the hope of challenging the assumption that prolonged world travel is only for the mega rich and the retired. Khiara and I (Adam) are from Melbourne, Australia. We bought the Millennial Falcon, a 1981 Tayana 42, in Port Charlotte, Florida in February of 2018 and have been repairing her in many weird and wonderful places ever since! It's been one hell of an adventure so far and we hope to continue for as long and as far as we can! We saved for many years to realise our goal. Watching other sailing channels, in addition to brightening our work days, gave us the hope and drive to continue saving and eventually take the plunge! So please join us on our adventure. I hope we make you laugh and can prove to some of you that it can be done!
