In this episode, the day after we arrived in St Martin we got a message from Adams childhood friend who is crewing on a mega yacht. He said he’d be arriving into St Martin the very next day and that we were invited to check out his workplace… a 62m (203ft) mega yacht.
When we arrived on the day, he told us that to let us aboard we need to have a PCR test done. Our very first. Thankfully we were both free and clear of Covid and spend a morning moving from Philipsburg to Simpson Bay and exploring the yacht. Unfortunately we weren’t really allowed to have the name of the yacht in the footage or film the guest area but we had some fun running around filming the outside and being tourists anyway!
After catching up with friends for a few days we got back to doing some work. First on our agenda was measuring up for some new sails! We dragged the sails to the beach to measure them up.
Next was figuring out how to get to the French side so we could sleep a bit easier (with less rolling) and have more places to sail to. After jumping through various hoops, we got the approval and immediately sailed around to Marigot for a lovely afternoon sail.

What do you do when the whole world seems hell bent on getting a mortgage, buying houses and procreating but your not quite ready to join them? Well, we decided to scrounge every penny we had, buy a boat and chase the adventure of a lifetime in the hope of challenging the assumption that prolonged world travel is only for the mega rich and the retired. Khiara and I (Adam) are from Melbourne, Australia. We bought the Millennial Falcon, a 1981 Tayana 42, in Port Charlotte, Florida in February of 2018 and have been repairing her in many weird and wonderful places ever since! It's been one hell of an adventure so far and we hope to continue for as long and as far as we can! We saved for many years to realise our goal. Watching other sailing channels, in addition to brightening our work days, gave us the hope and drive to continue saving and eventually take the plunge! So please join us on our adventure. I hope we make you laugh and can prove to some of you that it can be done!
