Terrifying or Tame? PORTLAND BILL! the UK’s most notorious tidal race!
In this episode, we take on the challenge of sailing from Torquay to Portland Marina, rounding the infamous Portland Bill. Known for its dangerous tidal races, this headland is not to be underestimated! We were a bit anxious heading into it, but with a solid passage plan in place, we successfully navigated around the Bill without any issues.

Sailing Melody is the official YouTube channel for the Bennington Family and our sailing adventures. We are now well on our way to becoming a full time live-aboard family. We started with a little 24ft Snapdragon bilge keel, and then moved up to a 28ft Great Dane long keel yacht. Now though we're working on MELODY, our 38ft Steel Pilothouse Cutter. We're working hard to get her ready to go back in the water but as you'll see there's a lot of work to do.
