#26 - Finally under cover! Restoring a rusty sailing yacht
We’ve finally got Melody Under cover so we can get her dry and continue to work on her during the horrible winter months. It’s absolutely freezing here now in North Wales……. Like seriously freezing! But with her cover on Melody is much warmer and dryer. Along with that we’ve removed the in mast furling system and it’s all good news!

We are Andy, Melissa and Jack, a sailing family based in North Wales, and for the past couple of years we have been looking for a bluewater sailing yacht to take us around the world.
Well we’ve finally found her. Our new sailing yacht is a John Teal designed 38ft Steel Pilothouse Cutter. She has been standing ashore for at least 15 years and now we’re embarking on the huge challenge of refitting her and doing her up ready to go sailing around the world.

Sailing Melody
Sailing Melody is the official YouTube channel for the Bennington Family and our sailing adventures. We are now well on our way to becoming a full time live-aboard family. We started with a little 24ft Snapdragon bilge keel, and then moved up to a 28ft Great Dane long keel yacht. Now though we're working on MELODY, our 38ft Steel Pilothouse Cutter. We're working hard to get her ready to go back in the water but as you'll see there's a lot of work to do.
