Slightly different style of video this week –– I wanted to make something about this past year and some of the things I’ve realized along the way. I think one of the biggest things I realized was how important it is to continually build a vision of the future. I’ve always been motivated by books and films to go out and live a life of adventure, but when Aladino and I started living our own life of adventure, I largely stopped reading those books and building on that dream. I didn’t think this was a problem at all –– I was living life rather than dreaming about it. But after a while, I started feeling a bit directionless, not really knowing what was next or where I was headed. It’s important to enjoy the moment, but it’s also important to look forward. When lockdown hit, I had so much time to sit, think, and read. I found myself setting goals and envisioning the future in a more potent way than had happened in a while. That’s what ultimately led to us setting things in motion for the next chapter of our sailing adventures: a chapter filled with far away places, unknown adventures, and more refined filmmaking.
This film is a bit of a tribute to the power of dreams, books, and envisioning what you want your future to actually look like.

I got some new sunglasses to protect my eyes out on the water. They’re super polarized, block all light coming in from the sides, and they stay on my face –– plus I think they’ve got a very cool retro style. If you want some of your own, you can use this link and I get a little bonus too 🙂 https://www.vallon.store?sca_ref=245031.4N6LNivT04
