Where The Heck Is Bangaii? A Hidden Paradise Discovered

Bangaii – a remote archipelago, barely marked on any sailing charts. An unknown destination until now, as we have decided to sail around it and uncover the hidden secrets this paradise has to offer.

An Uncharted Territory

With zero Western tourism, and barely a blip on the charting community’s radar, Bangaii seemed like an enigma. A place that promised untouched nature and seclusion, which attracted us instantly.

The Challenges and Discoveries

Sailing here wasn’t without its challenges. Navigating through unclear waters, dealing with the rain, managing illnesses, and keeping our morale high all contributed to an adventure filled with highs and lows.

The Hidden Gems

Despite the hardships, the discovery of hidden gems like Oana Beach made it all worthwhile. It was like stumbling upon an undiscovered paradise where we were met with breathtaking landscapes, pristine waters, and no other tourists in sight.

The Importance of Support

We’d like to extend our thanks to all those who support us on this journey, both financially and emotionally. It’s through your support that we’re able to explore the most remote destinations and share these adventures with you.

Looking Forward

Our journey is far from over, with the Toan Islands waiting in the horizon. As we leave behind the beauty of Bangaii, we’re eager to see what other adventures and discoveries lie ahead.

A Hidden Paradise Unveiled

After weeks of uncertainty and navigating rough seas, we’ve uncovered a hidden paradise in Bangaii. A place that offers both tranquility and adventure, Bangaii is worth the trip for anyone seeking a unique sailing experience.

The Bangaii Islands are just that, rarely visited they presented quite a challenge, deep anchorages, strong currents and constant bad weather. We completed a circumnavigation of the main island and found a few amazing spots aloing the way.

Decision time, Aluminium Project boat or Keep our Catamaran? (ep 286)
I flew to Australia to see a 54ft Aluminium sailing boat called Ivanhoe. It would need a total rebuild from bottom up and that is a HUGE job. Our budget would be AU$100k and 12 months to get the job done. Last week I showed you guys Ivanhoe and most of you...

Ivanhoe is a 54ft Aluminium sailing boat that is in total disrepair. I fly to Australia just to look this boat over and to see if it's the right project for us to take on. She was built as a flat-topped racing boat, then years later changes were made to c...
