Wet & Wild. Sailing to Cooktown. Ep 241

#sailing #queensland #cooktown
Double Rainbows, wind, rain, squalls, rope in the propeller, new top speed, this passage had it all and we loved it all. You feel alive when your heart is beating.
Cairns to an overnight anchorage at the Low-Isles then on to Cooktown the next day, we are moving rapidly north now.
We take a day off in Cooktown and spend the day exploring this tiny remote town where Captain James Cook spent some time repairing his ship “Endeavour ” after hitting a reef south of what is now Cooktown.
Thanks for watching.

No Watermaker : How we fill up with fresh water in remote areas (ep 298)
Sailing through the Kabui Passage is a bit nerve wracking as it's super narrow, has big sharp cliffs on either side and the current can run either way up to 5 knots. It is a big shortcut and it is a very beautiful river-like cruise if you have the courage....
