We’ve been sailing almost daily this past couple of months, covering lots of new ground and discovering amazing new places to us. The sailing has ben great as you’ve seen in recent videos, pretty good consistent wind, relatively calm waters and best of all, Marie is really turning into a good sailor. She’s adapting well, learning fast on what needs to be packed up, tidied away etc before we set off. She’s thinking ahead and preparing food and researching our destinations too. I’m slowly teaching her the technical aspects of sailing, she’s tacking alone now, is able to do night watches, reef the headsail etc.
Moyo Island had been a place we’d been looking forward to visiting. It sits just north of Sumbawa. There are no really good anchorages, they all tend to be very affected by swell but the place is very worth the visit. Great snorkelling is to be had but the main attraction for us was the Mata Jitu waterfall. Maybe the most beautiful waterfall I’ve ever been too.
