I'm surrounded by hungry SHARKS! (Learning By Doing Ep 173)

Raja Ampat, one of the worlds most beautiful places, for sure, but as its sits right on the Equator there’s not a lot of wind. For those of us who loves to actually sail, not ideal. This time we get a few puffs and make the most of it. We’ve made a few videos showing the wonders of Wayag but this time, its a little different, we bring you, Wayag Wildlife! The sharks at the ranger station are a pretty scary and special experience. There are not many places where you can stand, surrounded by swarming blacktip sharks that are in a feeding frenzy! Scary! Also loads of Manta’s to be spotting in the lagoon of Wayag, maybe the wolds most elegant swimmer. Finishing off the video with some nice fast sailing, just the way we like it.

Boat yards scare the hell out of me, I'll be honest. It's never a nice time when that moment comes when you need to haul out and get some hull work done. Very necessery though and it had been 18 months since the last one. We have some big sailing miles com...

Sailing through the Kabui Passage is a bit nerve wracking as it's super narrow, has big sharp cliffs on either side and the current can run either way up to 5 knots. It is a big shortcut and it is a very beautiful river-like cruise if you have the courage....
