Episode 138: Building Head Doors
This week we got started on a task Ricky was not looking forward to, that being.. getting our head door complete. For the longest time we thought of getting someone in to build the door for us that is how badly we didn’t want to do it but then opted for building it ourselves 😂 This darn task took us way longer than expected but don’t all boat projects? The door is 85% complete. Now she just needs another few coats of varnish and her latch & I can tick it off our boat to do list.

We are a couple from sunny South Africa who decided to buy an old 1991 36.5ft Dean Sailing Catamaran, do a complete rebuild on her and sail the world. We started our boat build in 2018 and completed here in 2020 where we left South Africa and completed an Atlantic Crossing to the Caribbean. Amidst all of this we applied to become US Residents. So follow our journey as we sail the Caribbean and set up a new life in a new country.
