In today’s episode, we’re continuing our adventure in Beckway. If you haven’t seen the previous video, one of you guys noticed that the Genoa track cars were installed wrong, so we fixed that before heading to town for lunch. But the day took an interesting turn when I got pooped on twice while eating, which isn’t nice at all. Once everything blew over, we were back doing another electrical project – our list just never ends!
Recently, we posted a video showing that our newly installed Genoa track had issues with the cars always moving when we had it under load. A subscriber named Richard commented and asked if we were sure that these cars weren’t put on incorrectly. We checked Harken’s website, and they indeed showed the opposite orientation of what should have been done. So Jeff is going to open it up to fix the issue.
While we were working on this project, it started raining, which added some drama to our video! Later in the day, strong winds picked up with gusts of 25 knots. We managed to complete the Genoa track fix before having lunch in town and headed back to secure our belongings against the storm.
Despite the challenges, we continued with our electrical project. It seems that we blew a fuse on our engine screen which stopped working properly. Jeff worked on soldering new connections and installing waterproof fuse holders to protect against any further issues.
We spent some time in Beckway, enjoying the sunset and the beautiful sight of a luxurious French cruise ship arriving in the harbor. We also talked about the history of the island’s transportation systems and saw a local ferry that used to transfer vehicles between St Vincent and Bequia by teeter-tottering on boards!
The most exciting part of the day was waiting for our friends to arrive from Vancouver. We were putting out a fish trap, hoping to catch some Lobster or fish, when we heard that they had landed. It was an amazing birthday celebration!
We hope you’ve enjoyed watching our journey as much as we have doing it! Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more exciting adventures. If you want to be part of the Joko crew, consider becoming a patron – thank you so much to all of our current patrons who are making this possible!
