As we reach the milestone episode 200 of our sailing adventures, it’s time for us to say goodbye to our beloved sailboat, Gypsy. The landscape shifted quickly as we neared Norfolk, turning into a bustling transport zone with huge container ships that left us feeling tiny in comparison. We had to carefully time our arrival into the shallow channel at high tide.Hauling Out Gypsy for Major Preparations
We arrived at Dandy Haven Marina, a perfect spot recommended by reviews. After hauling out Gypsy, we were left with empty cabinets and storage spaces that needed cleaning. In the two years since our last haulout, our plans had changed unexpectedly.Preparing for an Exciting New Chapter
We decided to clear out all of Gypsy’s contents and found ourselves overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff accumulated over two years of cruising. Our kitchen, shed, and other storage spaces were filled to the brim.Reflecting on Memories Made Aboard Gypsy
