Experimenting in the galley in this week’s midweek episode! Steph tries out a simple homemade ice cream recipe, simple enough to do in a boat galley. Mason jar ice cream is not only easy to do, but a fun simple dessert recipe for all ages. Only 2 main ingredients are needed and make any flavor you’re craving by adding fruit puree or melted chocolate.
Ingredients
– mason jar/glass jar
– 1 cup heavy cream (35%)
– 4 tbsp cold sweetened condensed milk
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup fruit puree / melted chocolate
– plastic storage container
Directions
– pre-chill glass jar for 30 minutes
– pour heavy cream into the glass jar
– stir in condensed milk until it’s no longer sitting at the bottom
– shake for 3 minutes
– gently stir in vanilla and additional fruit puree/melted chocolate
– pour into a plastic container and freeze for 6 hours
