Leaving the Boat Unattended in the Dominican Republic - Ep 30

While in Luperon, we arranged for a driver and rented a car to explore some cool spots in Puerto Plata and Santiago. We’ll show you some good spots to provision and how awesome the Parqueo Charcos Damajagua or 27 Waterfalls is. The waterfalls are amazing and a must see in Puerto Plata. We also explore a huge abandoned all inclusive resort right in Luperon before checking out of Luperon Bay.

CHECK OUT PROCESS
– Go to the Port Authority with your check-in papers to obtain a receipt when ready to check out. This will show that you have paid for your stay and any possible outstanding overstay fees
(The Port Authority was closed on the Sunday we were checking out, so we were able to go straight to the Armada. Since our stay was less than 30 days, there was no outstanding monies owed and we did not require a receipt – they knew we would have already paid upon entry with our check-in paperwork)
– Bring the receipt to the Armada (navy) when requesting your Despacho (dispatch) to check out of the port
– Armada will then bring the despacho to your vessel, at which point, you are required to leave the port
