Preparing for ocean sailing: our new life begins | Ep97

Gibraltar is tiny but full of surprises. If you’re a sailor it’s one of the must see places in the world.

We stop by in this last outpost in the Mediterranean to start the process of getting ready for trade wind ocean sailing. Gibraltar is a great place to do this so we spend a few days in Ocean Village Marina which is a fantastic place to be with everything on hand.
Goods are VAT free here so I spent a LOT of time in the chandlers! I’ve even stocked up with antifoul ready for the next lift (its £85 a 2.5 litre can here rather than almost €200 in parts of Spain!)
We also take delivery of our new mainsail and staysail, very exciting!
And we do find some time to explore some truly incredible sights in the rock where not many people get to go.

We have managed to fit a trip to the Annapolis boat show into our schedule so if you’re going we hope to see you there, and we may be able to help you out a little bit as we have a discount code for you… use 23FAIRABS to get 5 dollars off per ticket.
