Ep 32 | The best way to travel
Venice is eerily empty, both in the lagoon and the city. But we can still travel around and the best way to do that is by boat.
Kayaking around the lagoon is something you simply must do, but in the city you need a Gondola, and that’s a much more difficult prospect.
We are lucky enough to be friends with Tommaso who is a master gondolier here in Venice and he took us out in an empty city.
Venice is stunning at all times, but seeing it empty like this eerily beautiful. Of course it’s very bad news for the local businesses though. Venice lives on its tourism and Covid has killed it. Added to that we had more floods this week, something the locals thought was a thing of the past now they have the Mose barrier protecting the lagoon.

Sailing Fair Isle
We have sold our house in the UK and moved aboard our boat. She is a classic cutter rigged 48 foot Hans Christian; a very strong blue water boat more than capable of sailing around the world. Just hope we are! We are professional documentary filmmakers working for the BBC and many other TV stations around the world. Broadcasters aren't interested in commissioning sailing programs these days so we are launching our channel online. Sailing Fair Isle is aiming to be more than just a vlog showing our travels. It will be a travel log, but also a documentary style show with proper content and broadcast technical standards. That's the plan anyway. Lets see how it goes.
